pictures, words, and other seemingly useless things
i’m starting to work on a new body of images. right now, its still in its beginning stages. i’m very curious as to what direction these are going to take.
lately i’ve been feeling a need to go back to shooting for myself. i have some Arri lights, so i decided to get them out and shoot some portraits. i think they turned out ok. the “models” are my friends clint and jerry since they happened to be around when i got the urge to take some pictures.

i’ve also gone back to shooting film. not that i’m giving up digital, but it’s a nice change of pace. i can’t look at my pictures right after i take them and i only get up to 36 shots before i have to change the roll. i forgot how much fun it is to shoot with my F3 with a 50mm 1.4. manual focus, manual exposure, manual film winding/rewinding, i love it.
Its not the first time my pictures have been in S3, but its always exciting to see my work in print.

I’ve had this idea of creating a stop motion movie short film for awhile. Its been brewing since I was first shown work by the Brothers Quay and Jan Svankenmajer. The process is going to take getting used to, but its not as laborious as I was thinking it was going to be. This first one is only about 20 seconds and made of about 170 pictures. I may need a new camera if I plan on making something even 15 minutes, but I’ll worry about that when the time comes. In any case, here is the first movie I’ve made with my 20D.
Now that I think about it, the day we took these pictures I don’t think we went to go get biscuits. But, we do consume a possibly unhealthy amount of the delicious little things. In any case, I took some pictures, Cody took some pictures, I edited them, and now they are here. My skids are getting better. I don’t think I’m going to go brakeless anytime soon, but maybe one of these days.
On second thought, I’ll probably always keep a front brake. Most of the time you don’t need it, but when you do, you REALLY need it.

One morning, I woke up way to early for my own good. Instead of going back to sleep, I decided I would take my camera out and go snap pictures of whatever I found in the backyard. I’ve been planning a trip back down the rabbit hole, and although this isn’t what I envision for those images I feel like its somewhat along the same lines.
Is the world ready? At this point, only time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy pictures from the greatest drift event no one knew about.
Decided I would put up a back log of some of my older galleries that were published on the old site.
